Best..wait for it...Friend!

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY, BIG WILLIE!

You know that friend who alway seems to know everything? Whose insights into your soul is even more clear than what you can muddle through? The friend who has a solution, a comeback, or at the very least, a quip for life?

That's Will.

Ever since we first met in Hong Kong and joked that our first night-life tour guide, Kenny, who was walking us through some shady HK streets, was planning on selling us to the black markets and that the best plan would be to cut off his limbs, we have become "Best Friends!" (Mostly because of my insistence. I can be pushy persuasive like that.)

Like two peas in a pod, we just "get" each other. Will is always full of these little nuggets of wisdom and trinkets of trivia and he just loves sharing it with everyone! You'd never expect looking at this giant teddy bear that he used to run in some hard-core crowds! Don't mess!

An avid reader of my blog though he never comments, (he says, "but I'll have nothing to say to you in person!") Will's my blog consultant. Back when I was dying of suffocation at that office job I had, it was Will who told me, "you know, your writing's not the same anymore. You're a little bit emo." That just freaked me out! Sure, I paint my nails black and listen to Marilyn Manson from time to time, but emo? Me? I'm perky, quirky and dorky! Haha, I quickly made the necessary adjustments to rearranging my blog back to its chirpy self. (I hope...)

Thanks for all the good times, my friend. Cheers to more in the future!

Hello Friend

HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY HELENAAAA!

My very special lady friend Helen is turning -a wise beyond-22 years of age today and I just wanted to wish her all the health, happiness and love she can contain within that petite frame! (Maybe she can store some in her hair? The girl does adore big hair.)

Helen was the reason this blog even exists in the first place.

Back when we were sprightly young co-eds, my fellow Communications Studies major introduced me to her beautiful blog where her dreamy pictures make you sigh and her whimsical writing makes you swoon with delight. I glanced through her blog every chance I got and thought, "I wish I could do that."

Helen asked, "Why can't you? Start one! (voice rising and getting louder) Yeah! Start one! (and louder) START ONE!"

So I started one for my travels and was soon hooked to the world of... talking about myself (okay not completely but you know it's most of the time).

My dear friend has always been encouraging and is one of the biggest cheerleaders of my life. I admire and worship her so much, it's almost to a creepy degree (I say almost 'cause I'm not creepy! Right? Right? Right? Right?) She was one of the most pivotal figures that led me to the greatest gift of my life: Jesus Christ. Somehow I just don't think my birthday present to her will suffice but it'll have to do. :)

We have traveled together, watched plays and movies together, attended parties and gatherings together, dined many many times together, shared laughs together, shared heartbreaks together, and will soon conquer the world together!

I lava you, Helen Wong and I wish you an amazing 22nd!
